The coming solar eclipse on July 22 has expectant mothers in India scurrying to reschedule their caesarian delivery date to post-22nd.

Religion and superstition have pitted wits against science and secularism in India’s bias towards traditional mythology, where Hindu religion has two demons Rahu and Ketu, who “swallow” the sun during eclipses, killing its life-sustaining light resulting in food becoming inedible and water undrinkable.
Indian astrologers are predicting great global turmoil and terrorism directly correlated with this week’s total eclipse of the sun. Time to don these tin foil hats again, I guess.
