Seems the right-wingers have forgotten the lesson of Saddam Hussein‘s Iraq lacking those vital “weapons of mass destruction,” as they go off seeking Britain’s health-care policies of mass euthanasia!
Conservative Republicans and the right wing media are embroiled in an outright war of skewed words and emotional manipulation, founded on sheer untruths against President Obama‘s proposed, and much needed, radical reform of the U.S. health-care system, and are hoodwinking the American public. A public that deserves the truth on such matters of great import, and deserving of a streamlined, humane health system that they can have pride in, instead of paying through the nose for a multi-tiered, inhumane clunker.
Amidst the hysterical, and inherently awry, cries of “evil” and “Orwellian” towards the reformist plans from the likes of election loser and public office quitter Sarah Palin, lies a notable and deliberate attempt by the anti-reformers to align the proposal with that of Great Britain’s National Health Service (NHS), and to decry their established socialist health-care program.
Central to the anti-reform movement is conservative opinion magazine Human Events who, among their own flurry of foolishness and outright lies, such as “government-forced extermination” being in the Obama administration’s health-care reform works, cited the Investors Business Daily, which is a complete factory of fabricated lies on this subject as evidenced here:
“People such as scientist Stephen Hawking wouldn’t have a chance in the U.K., where the National Health Service would say the life of this brilliant man, because of his physical handicaps, is essentially worthless,” the IBD editorial insists.

'A Brief History Of Time' by Stephen Hawking
Too bad for the anti-reform mob that Professor Stephen Hawking was born in the U.K.
Too bad that Stephen Hawking lives and works today in the U.K.
Too bad that Stephen Hawking has always lived and worked in the U.K.
Too bad that Stephen Hawking is grateful to the services of said NHS, and doubly too bad that he cites the NHS as having saved his life, and continues to this very day to do so.
He suffers from the terminal condition, motor neuron disease (AKA, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, ALS, Lou Gehrig’s Disease.)
In an interview with the U.K.’s Guardian newspaper, Stephen Hawking had this to say:
“I wouldn’t be here today if it were not for the NHS. I have received a large amount of high-quality treatment without which I would not have survived.”

Physicist Professor Stephen Hawking receives the Presidential Medal of Freedom from President Barack Obama during a White House Ceremony.
As if to reiterate the laughable idiotic tomfoolery of Investors Business Daily, Senator Chuck Grassley (Republican) stated Senator Edward Kennedy (Democrat), who is undergoing treatment for a brain tumor, would be left to die in Britain because he is 77 years old.
Seems the right-wingers have forgotten the lesson of Saddam Hussein‘s Iraq lacking those vital “weapons of mass destruction,” as they go off seeking NHS policies of mass euthanasia!
Anti-reformists are even trying to scare the American public to their very wallets, claiming such a reform would be too costly for taxpayers. However, they fail to convey that Americans pay double per capita on health-care than that of the average citizen of developed countries.
Opponents to the reform bill have taken to producing ridiculous TV and radio spots deriding long NHS waiting lists and ‘rationing’ of expensive drugs. The NHS responded with:
“The NHS provides health services on the basis of clinical need, irrespective of age or ability to pay. The NHS sees one million people every 36 hours and 93 per cent of patients rate their care as good or excellent. In recent years patients have benefited from record levels of investment and more lives have been saved through better prevention and treatment. Waiting lists are at their lowest ever levels, there has been a 44 per cent reduction in the mortality rate from cardiovascular disease and 50,000 more lives have been saved through better cancer services.”
Typical of the anti-reform mob’s graphic and sinister scare tactics is this strangeness seen on the streets:

The depths to which anti-health-care protestors sink to in their sinister scare tactics.
At a public town hall meeting in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, President Barack Obama struck back at the outrageous campaign being waged against him and his bill, with:
“Where we do disagree, let’s disagree over things that are real, not these wild misrepresentations that bear no resemblance to anything that’s actually been proposed. Because the way politics works sometimes is that people who want to keep things the way they are will try to scare the heck out of folks and they’ll create bogeymen out there.”
With 47 million private health-care uninsured Americans, and 25million under-insured, we think – as any rationally-minded human being would – it is time for America to come of age, to put away campfire childish scare-making, lie-telling, and bogeymen-fabling in favor of respecting every man, woman, and child’s right to proper health-care based on their individual need, rather than their individual wealth.
In the U.K., a patient leaves hospital having been treated and mended and unbilled. Now, that’s what the doctor should order, don’t you think?!
