L.A. County Superior Court Judge Patricia Schnegg sentenced R&B singer Chris Brown to five years of probation, and 180 days community labor to be personally supervised by the Chief of Police in Richmond, Virginia, for his brutal assault on R&B artist, Rihanna.
She also ordered him to remain at least 100 yards from Rihanna for the next five years.
He will also take a mandatory one-year domestic violence prevention class for his conviction in the February, 2009, violent beating of his then girlfriend, Rihanna, in a rented Lamborghini in Holmby Hills, California, on the way home from a pre-Grammy party. Rihanna was left badly bruised and bloodied following Brown’s tirade of blows on her.
Brown made a plea deal, and avoided what would have been up to five years in prison if a jury had found him guilty of the felony assault and criminal threats charges he faced.
According to a probation officer’s report filed with the court for the Brown’s sentencing today, he was involved in two unreported incidents “related to domestic violence” before his attack in February.
Digital Cheeseburger sees five years as a long time for a dude with three domestic violence strikes under his belt to keep his nose clean!
