Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Mitchell Beckloff authorized the current administrators of Michael Jackson‘s estate to pay for the King of Pop‘s funeral and interment, which are scheduled to take place in private this coming Thursday evening.
MJ’s mother, Katherine Jackson, had filed with the court to have her son’s estate cover the costs, which are undisclosed at this time. The estate did not contest the motion. Although very few details of the funeral to be held in the Great Mausoleum, Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Glendale, California, are known, one surprise did emerge from today’s court hearing – 12 burial spaces are being purchased. Is the entire Jackson family to be laid to rest beside Michael, when their times come? And, if so, why does the estate have to pay? Digital Cheeseburger is getting brain freeze imagining Papa Joe Jackson laying eternally beside Michael, and close to the bodies of stellar Hollywood movie luminaries, such as Clark Gable and Jean Harlow. Talk about turning in their graves – they’ll turn so much, come that day, an almighty earthquake will rumble in California, centered in the mausoleum’s Holly Terrace! Jeryll Cohen, an attorney for the administrators of Jackson’s estate, said:
“The expenses are extraordinary, however, Michael Jackson was extraordinary”
