1900 hours, Pacific Time, this evening, the Jackson family and a few invited guests will inter the body of legendary superstar entertainer, Michael Jackson, King of Pop, within a walled vault in Holly Terrace, Great Mausoleum, Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Glendale, Los Angeles.

MJ will be interred in the sprawling cemetery’s Great Mausoleum. The pop singer’s remains will be placed in a crypt in the Holly Terrace section of the mausoleum, a massive building that is the final resting place for stars from film’s golden age, such as Jean Harlow, Carole Lombard, and Clark Gable.

A Glendale police officer patrols the outside perimeter of the Forest Lawn Memorial Parks & Mortuaries in Glendale, California, on Thursday Sept. 3, 2009, in preparation for Michael Jackson's funeral.
Police will be out in great force for the funeral, blocking off streets and surrounding the grounds of Forest Lawn, as well as monitoring from helicopters, to keep fans and spectators away. The bill for such heavy policing is around $150,000 and will be met by the Jackson estate, in addition to all the other expenses incurred in this burial.
Close personal friend of Michael, Diana Ross, named in his will as substitute caregiver of his three children should his mother, Katherine Jackson be unable to provide the care, will be attending his funeral. She has not been seen in public since his death. It is to be an open-casket funeral, which is rather strange given he’s been deceased over two months, his body will be wearing a Gianni Versace suit, and his signature glove along with letters from his kids will be enclosed in the coffin.

Katherine has been in Las Vegas this week with Michael’s kids, so they don’t have to endure the rigors of witnessing the funeral arrangements being made. MJ’s daughter, Paris Michael Jackson, while enjoying a break shopping in Vegas, also got her first ever haircut at Amp salon in Palms Resort and Casino. (Paris pic by: FLYNET / MATRIXPHOTOS.COM)
