Michael Jackson's gold casket at funeral in Forest Lawn.
As we reported earlier, the Michael Jackson gravy train just keeps on rolling along. The funeral, billed and hailed by the Jackson family as being a “private” occasion, and its after-party at the Italian eatery and bar Villa Sorriso Ristorante in Pasadena, were taped for an A&E TV special (just as Digital Cheesburger suspected earlier in our “Michael Jackson Laid To Rest” article.) A DVD of this private occasion is to be released later.
Joe and Katherine Jackson, MJ‘s three children, and Elizabeth Taylor all avoided the “celebration of life” party shenanigans, where the Jackson brothers were allegedly heard discussing a Jackson 5 reunion tour. (We’re uncertain why the brothers would choose this venue to talk about such a sensitive – or insensitive! – issue as a reborn Jackson Five, so we’ll firmly file this portion under ‘allegedly’.) Throughout the celebratory soiree, the Humphrey Bogart, whose cremated remains are also interred in Forest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery, classic movie “Casablanca” was projected onto the walls, while Rat Pack music filled the air. The cable network has not scheduled a date to air the special in order to respect the family’s grieving over Michael’s death. Is there nothing too low for the Jackson family to exploit for a buck? Makes me think Joe wasn’t just saying when he talked about the Jackson 3. Vultures the whole damn lot of them! Where were they when Michael needed more than yes men around?
