Wow, here’s a reality check for you! Star of Fox reality TV show “Hell’s Kitchen,” chef Gordon Ramsay’s younger brother Ronnie, 41, is homeless and sleeping on the streets of Plymouth, England.

Heroin addict, Ronnie, is back in Britain following his February 2007 arrest for possession of 100mg of heroin outside a supermarket in the Balinese resort of Kuta, fined almost $500 and jailed for ten months. He appealed to his brother for $10,000 to retain a top lawyer to assist him get off the charges, but Ramsay refused. Ronnie sneared:

“All it is to him is the price of a wheel off one of his Ferraris.”

Ramsay, whose wealth is rumored at around $150 million, has wiped his hands clean of his brother’s drug-blown ways, as has their mother, Helen Cosgrove, too. In his autobiography, “Humble Pie,” the chef confessed that he had previously paid for Ronnie’s rehab treatment five times, adding:

“It’s the one thing I feel I’ve failed at. I find it hard knowing that there’s nothing I can do to help.”

After being jailed in Indonesia, Ronnie threatened to kill Gordon and his children in a ploy to exact money with menaces. Ramsay has since beefed up security and taken all necessary precautions to prevent his brother accessing his life:

“[Ronnie's] tried everything. Death threats. Calls at midnight from various horrible people saying they know what time my kids leave school. Things like that, which you just shouldn’t have to have in your life. I’ve changed my numbers, got extra security in the house with CCTV everywhere, but I’m not giving in. I’m not living like that anymore.”

Digital Cheeseburger hates homelessness, but despises, all the more, drugs and narcotics with their attendant personal and societal destructive wake. We can appreciate the terrible dilemma our fellow Scotsman. Gordon Ramsay, must have mentally and emotionally wrestled and wrested with, and agree with his painful decision to cut loose from this current no-win situation.
