The Great Sony Corp. Rip-Off
Living down to its industry-wide low reputation, Sony Music Entertainment in releasing and promoting “This Is It” as Michael Jackson‘s “new” single from the canceled tour, and forthcoming movie, of the same name has ripped-off the King of Pop‘s fans. Sony has lied to MJ‘s legions of fans!
“This Is It” is NOT a new song.
“This Is It” was co-written by legendary singer-songwriter Paul Anka (wrote Frank Sinatra‘s anthem “My Way“)and Jackson way back in 1983. Sony has failed to credit Anka in this much hyped release!
“This Is It” was apparently intended as part of The Jacksons‘ “Victory” tour way back in 1984, but the song was voted 4 to 1 against inclusion. Michael was the only one of the brothers that voted for it.
An obscure Latin-American pop singer called Safire, from Puerto Rico, was given the song by Anka, which she recorded under its original title “I Never Heard.” You can hear her version and Michael’s below.
“This Is It” was NOT even titled “This Is It” until Sony decided to milk the cash cow white!
Equally to blame in this almighty rip-off of Michael Jackson’s fans and his co-writer Paul Anka is the Michael Jackson Estate. In the world’s swiftest settlement of copyright and producer (Anka produced Michael’s vocals on “This Is It”) infringement, the estate under the guidance of its co-executor, special administrator, music attorney John Branca, has agreed to pay Anka 50 percent of the project. For a case of this type and magnitude to be agreed with such atypical urgency only shows just how deep the estate was in bed with Sony Music, and how much they knew it, too.
The other estate executor, John McClain, co-producer of the “This is It” album, worked with Michael at the Sony Corporation, had this to say earlier today and just prior to the rip-off coming to light:
“[the song] only defines, once again, what the world already knows – that Michael is one of God’s greatest gifts.”
The Michael Jackson Estate IS in complicity with Sony Music’s great rip-off! …And, the song is NOT so great, either, Mr. McClain!

Digital Cheeseburger is disgusted and disappointed with Sony Corp.’s behavior, greed and deception in this rip-off. However, we are NOT surprised by it, either … Like we say, Sony has a reputation to live down to in the industry.
