California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has just signed an amendment allowing lawsuits against media outlets that pay for and make first use of material they knew was improperly obtained. Under the previous law, the paparazzi could be fined for illegally or offensively snapping photos or audio and video recordings. Now, all forms of media outlets are fused into the mire of potential lawsuits, be they tabloids, television, websites, etc.
