Funnyman Chris Rock, whose documentary “Good Hair” opens Friday, is being sued for copyright infringement by filmmaker Regina Kimbell, who claims her 2005 documentary, “My Nappy Roots: A Journey Through Black Hair-itage” was ripped off by the comedian.
Rock co-produced, co-wrote, narrates, and appears in the production which Kimbell alleges contains 12 similarities to hers, all are cited in her filing in U.S. District Court, downtown Los Angeles, seeking “no less than $5 million” in damages and attorney fees.
