Italian-American crooner and “The Godfather” actor Al Martino, born Alfred Cini, has died at home in Springfield, Philadelphia, aged 82 years. As yet, no known cause of death.
Martino’s 50 years as a singer spawned major hits such as “Spanish Eyes,” “Can’t Help Falling in Love,” and “Volare.” He also sang the title score “The Love Theme From The Godfather,” in which he also acted as godson, Johnny Fontane, to the movie’s star Marlon Brando‘s Mafia boss character, Don Vito Corleone.
